| Like it or not, Christmas is pretty crowded, deity-wise. Numerous sun gods were born on December 25, the ancient God’s of other cultures have lived at the North Pole, and Christ shares with Krishna and Horus the distinction of having barely escaped death after they were born.(Part 1 of 5) Santa Claus is going to be very unhappy this year as he is caught between a melting North Pole and a frozen economy. Santa Claus is arguably the greatest philanthropist in the world. No one person dispenses as many gifts in one day. What can he do to solve the world’s economic woes after all He has been given all the attributes of a God? If we follow this hypothesis it’s understandable that many Christians believe that the Santa Claus tradition robs the Lord Jesus Christ of His glory. The problem is that every religion thinks their God is better even though they are all the same ‘One God’ with different names. Just Google "The Devil Is In Your Chimney! Satan Claus and the Anti-Christ! The Great Imposter! The latest film in the Santa Claus franchise brings more fuel to the yuletide fire and exposes Jack’s evil plan to turn the North Pole into a theme park and renaming Dec. 25 "Frostmas" – literally taking Jesus out of Christmas. Unfortunately in this scenario no one wins except the creators, producers, and cast whose slapstick cliches pander to secularists. The current controversy between Christians and secularists during the Xmas season could be settled if both parties were aware of the genesis of Santa Claus and Christ. Christians think ancient Gods are nothing but myths. What about the Christian God? Isn’t he just a myth also? Greeks used myth to explain the unexplainable. Ancient civilizations created Polar Gods and Sun Gods to rule their universe. The attributes of Santa Claus can be traced back to Polar Gods such as Siva, Chronus, and Apollo. Zep Tepi is the Egyptian Genesis. Zep means Time. Tepi means First. Together they are the ‘First Time’ or the Golden Age (Alchemy) where the Pantheon of Egyptian Gods, Ptah, Ra, Su, Geb, Set, Osiris, (associated with Orion, god of resurrection and rebirth,) Horus, Ma’at , and Thoth ruled after the last ice age approximately 13,000 years ago when the Age of Leo (Sun) began. Therefore Santa Claus’ rule of the North Pole should be over. Christ is a mystical expression for the human inner god, while chrest is the latent Christ spirit which is regenerated by good thinking, living and actions. In the language of the Mysteries, Chrestes, Chrestos, Chrestians chrestos (Greek) is a title of respect equivalent to "the worthy." Christ may be likened to Dionysos, Osiris, or Krishna, who inspires the latent Chrestos. It is Christos that incarnates in Chrestos. The word Christos could even have been more acceptable to the Krishna-worshipers, because the name of Krishna is still pronounced as Krista, in many parts of India. Thus, we can readily see that the word Christos was easier to convert Middle Eastern religions with than the word "Messiah". The real tragedy is that both sides lose when they miss the spiritual message of love that can be created if people acted in a Christ-like way. The more important question is are you in deep, devoted communion with the spirit of Christ at Christmastide? There are two aspects of Jesus Christ: Jesus the man and Christ the spirit in man. Worshiping the Christ in spirit is far more important than observing his birth with overindulgence and presents. If Christ is born anew in our consciousness we can have a mass of Christs all year long. An excellent start would be to spend time communing with Christ on the 24th and then have your social day on the 25th. Enter the New Year with greater spiritual practice every day. This was the message in Charles Dicken’s most popular book, "A Christmas Carol," which introduced the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future, to show Scrooge the error of his ways. Most people think that Santa Claus has nothing to do with the religious side of Christmas. Santa Claus is actually supposed to be Saint Nicholas. Up until the 1930s Santa was shown in paintings to look like an ordinary person, dressed normally but wearing a red cloak. Then in the 1930’s the Coca-Cola Company ran an advertisement showing Santa Claus the way we know him now; rather fat and jolly, with his red suit and long white whiskers. He was much more appealing to children this way, and so the image remained. Few dispute that Santa Claus’ annual visit calms us as he sails through the darkest night of the year bringing hope and light to the world’s children. His Christmas presents also promise, through seasonal renewal, that the world is eternally young. Why would a secularist or a Christian complain about that? For centuries in Western countries Christmas was thought to be a purely Christian celebration, commemorating the birth of the Christ. During this time Christianity berated the Pagan world and its religions. Yet paradoxically its most important festival of the year incorporates the very same Pagan celebration rites that it has condemned. After the fall of the Roman empire the priests of the Roman Church conquered more minds than the centurions were ever able to do, by condescending to allow its Pagan converts to practice their ancient religious festivals at Christmas. So in essence it was Paganism that influenced Christianity. But in the process of this amalgamation, the true spiritual power of the Christian Gnostics was forgotten, and it is the reason why America is so polarized this Christmas. The Teachings of the Original Gnostic Christians were fervently suppressed by the Roman Church because they portray Jesus and Mary Magdalene as initiates of the Mystery School of Osiris and Isis. The gospels are a dramatic reenactment of spiritual allegory that leads to spiritual enlightenment, for the Mystery Schools taught how we have the power to transform our world by exploring consciousness. The answer to why we honor Santa Claus and Father Time is simple, for they bring back memories embedded deep in our collective consciousness of the idea of an ancient polar god ruling from the North Pole. The religions of all ancient nations associate the abode of the supreme God with the North Pole as the centre of heaven. In his book,“Arctic Home,” (published in 1903), Gangadhar Tilak was convinced that ancient Indian Vedic texts point unmistakably to a “realm of the gods” where the sun rises and sets once a year, which indicates that these writers understood the astronomical symbolism at the North Pole. So, if you are celebrating any of the western traditions of Christmas this year, remember that you are also enjoying the rituals of several ancient polar gods from the Hindus, Greeks, Scandinavians, and Romans.
