awareness

If you’re  feeling fate has dealt you a bad hand and you’re feeling sorry for yourself you are not traveling the Royal Road of Oneness. This is a difficult road which takes spiritual discipline  for the ego does not want to stay on this course because it knows that its life is in jeopardy. It prefers that you suffer so that it can exist. It is only when you bottom out on some level that you start to see the cosmic light leading back to the truth of your Self. When you reach the apex of the road you experience God’s consciousness as the immortal self at one with the love that permeates all living entities. When you experience this love or this Christ consciousness you are at one with the God within.  You are now the ruler of your universe whose crown is "the Way, the Truth and the Life". You may  study the world’s myths and religions, you may follow many gurus, you may go to many holy places on pilgrimages but that is of little value if this path has not led you to experience your true 'Self'.

Bhagavan Satya Sai Baba has only one purpose― to make you proceed along the quest, along the path towards the Self; and has coined the maxim: Constant Integrated Awareness: Constant integrated awareness is the constant effort, the constant thought, and the constant experience of the consciousness and  awareness of the true Self.  It  is essentially the process whereby you begin to perceive and interact with the external world where you see, hear or do ‘good.’

This is difficult because  we all are programmed by the environment, and our past experiences of the physical world, TV, Media, etc. The challenge is to imput your mind with purer thoughts for the ego is incapable of having divine thoughts. The process of transformation is achieved by a subtle and complex combination of the five D’s – Devotion, Discrimination, Determination, Discipline and Duty.

The first step is to sincerely desire change with the firm faith that your real self wants the ego under control. Self enquiry is the solution by constantly asking the question, “ Who Am I? “ This question is the key to re-discover your divinity. When your mind knows that you are the ego driven thought forms that have plagued your life they gradually dissolve  and allow you to be a reflection of  Divinity.

‘When transformation is gained, you will find that you have traveled only from yourself to yourself, with God all the while in you, around you, with you and beside you.’
-Baba

  • Transformation is a journey back to the source.
  • The beginning of the transformation process is Faith in Your Real Self.
  • The five resources, which need to be developed for the transformation process, are Devotion, Duty, Discipline, Discrimination and Determination.
  • The five techniques to be employed for the transformation process are Prayers, Devotional group Singing, Selfless Service, Tuning In and Good Environment.

Baba promises that if you take one step towards Him He will take ten steps towards you. Transformation follows naturally as you reap what  you sow. Weed your mind of ego driven thoughts by  good meditation, good reading, and good company so that you have clarity to see the light at the end of the royal road  to the Real Self.
